All attention has been on SS501’s leader Kim HyunJoong recently as he had moved to KeyEast after his contract with DSP expired, and now he is gaining even more attention due to the curiosity of whether or not he will be the male lead in the new MBC Korean drama It Started With a Kiss. It Started With a Kiss, like Boys Over Flowers, also originated from a popular Japanese manga called Itzura na kiss.

It has been said Kim HyunJoong has been selected to play the main lead for the MBC drama and they are currently in the final stages of discussions about whether or not he will take on the role. Even though there is no confirmation on his choice yet, many people are curious as to whether the singer turned actor will bring another wave of syndrome like he did for Boys Over Flowers.

When the first words about the drama were revealed, Kim HyunJoong was selected as the number 1 person to play the male lead by netizens, as they think he is most suited with the characters original image. CN Blue’s Jung YongHwa was also one of the candidates selected, however it would be difficult for him to film due to schedules with CN Blue and We Got Married. The production team for the drama will be Group Eight who had raised the Boys Over Flowers wave syndrome. The manga itself has sold 27 million copies in Japan alone, and the Taiwanese drama with the same title had also been a big hit. Hwang InRol will take up the directors seat once again after making such hits as Goong and Iljimaes Return, and it will be written by Go EunNim who wrote Soul and Jumping On Their Own. It is expected to be aired after MBC’s Wednesday-Thursday drama Road No. 1

And finally on July 7th, DSP Media has released the MV through GomTV. The song is a favourite of many Triple S and they will no doubt grow to treasure the MV which contains footage from their debut to SS501’s Love Ya activities, like a history video.

Since joining Keyeast, Kim Hyun Joong’s career has got off to a good start, with his very own variety show in Japan and now he has more or less been confirmed as the leading man for Playful Kiss (aka It Started With a Kiss).

It’s a known fact that Kim Hyun Joong and Keyeast have been in constant consultations for the leading man role in Playful Kiss with the production company, Group Eight recently. And while there’s still the formality of signing a contract, it’s verbally confirmed/decided and an official statement will be issued soon.

The drama which will be based on the popular manga series, Itazura na Kiss with some changes, has already been adapted as dramas in Japan and Taiwan.

Hyun Joong had faced compeition from the likes of CNBLUE’s Jung Yonghwa and TVXQ’s Changmin but the former got the nod in the end.

The race for the female lead remains wide open with over 100 female stars auditioning for it. Hot favorite Park Bo Young is being kept in reserve because of her legal woes with her management agency. Others who have auditioned for the role include Park Shin Hye, f(x)’s Sulli, KARA’s Seungyeon although the latter has dropped out of the running because of her group’s Japan schedules.

The drama will take over the current timeslot held by Road No.1 and the tentative airing date would be September 1st through MBC.

Je n'ai rien contre lui, je l'adore même... en tant que chanteur !
En tant qu'acteur, ce n'est vraiment pas ça. Okay, il n'a joué que dans un drama, mais quand on réussit à détruire un rôle aussi simple à la base ( > Rui / Ji Hoo ), il y a de quoi se poser des questions ! Le seul souvenir que j'ai de son rôle est un beau rouquinet au sourire Colgate.

Bon après, le personnage de Zi Shu ( dans ISWAK ) est plutôt stoïque et peu expressif donc pourquoi pas ?

Et est-ce que qqn pourrait bien m'expliquer comment Sulli et Seungyeon peuvent être considérées pour le rôle principal féminin ???

J'étais vraiment contente que mon drama taiwanais préféré soit adapté en Corée ( oui, je sais que c'est d'un manga à la base xD ) et là, j'avoue que toutes mes attentes se sont crachées droit dans le mur.

Le regarderai-je ? Sans doute, ne serait-ce que pour Hyun Joong !

It’s been revealed that fellow SS501 member Park Jung Min will also leave DSP Entertainment, possibly SS501 as well, to pursue his acting career with another management agency.

It is now looking like SS501 will now turn into SS301, a group consisting of Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Jong and Heo Young Saeng that promoted during 2008 with U R Man.

It’s known that while Park Jung Min is showing interest in pursuing his acting career, the rest of the three members are prefering to stay as a group rather than having solo careers although they are also looking for a new agency.

This will mean that all of the members of SS501 are no longer with DSP Entertainment, an agency they debuted through.

SS301’s Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Joong and Heo Young Saeng are now being looked upon by many agencies in the FA (free agent) market as they have left DSPE. The three have already received offers from different agencies, but the members are looking for a trustworthy agency.

A representative stated, “The contract itself is important, but the members are looking for an agency they can trust, an agency that is attractive.”

If the SS501 members indeed all go to separate agencies, it’s looking like it’ll take a while until we see SS501 promote again.

Albeit all the reports, the members are reportedly not in any arguments with each other, and they want to keep SS501 alive. Especially with the amount of success SS501 has in Korea as well as overseas, so there’s still a possibility that SS501 will not disband.

Furthermore, the “1+1+3″ separation of SS501 have started to resemble legendary group H.O.T which disbanded in 2001 with members Moon Hee Joon and Kangta pursuing solo careers while Jang Woo Hyuk, Tony Ahn and Lee Jae Won formed a three-member group jtL.

Citation :: SS501’s talented Kim Kyu Jong recently released his music video for Confession, which is an OST (soundtrack) for the TV movie Never Ending Love (internationally known as the Superstar series).

The song is Kim Kyu Jong’s solo version of SS501’s hit song Awkward Confession, and he shows off his flawless vocals throughout the entire song. It’s included in the movie’s OST because Kyu Jong plays the lead role.

Trois membres de SS501 sont actuellement en cours de processus de recherche d'une nouvelle agence après que leurs contrats avec les DSP Entertainment aient expiré. Il a été rapporté que le membre Kim Hyung Joon est actuellement en pourparlers pour rejoindre une nouvelle agence.
